Hi there. I am Bipolar II. I was doing good for about 2 months but I just started going into a mixed state. I know I should know by now what to do but my emotions are all over the place. My son had surgery yesterday and it went well but I got all emotional and felt out of control. Any advice on how you handle emotions that come on suddenly?

Take a deep breath. Try to practice mindfulness. Find distractions. Anything that can help you: books, movies, videogames, TV shows, comic books... Anything at all! Perhaps you can also try to rpactice Yoga to deal with upsetting emotions. There are PLENTY of YouTube videos that teach it at a basic level. Give that one a try if you wish! Most importantly, remember that your feelings and emotions are ALWAYS valid so please embrace them, acknowledge them, recognize them and try to deal with them. Don't suppress them. It won't do you any good in the long run in my opinion. Wishing you good luck with it! There are plenty of self-help books as well! Remember that you are important, you're wise, you're worth it, you matter and YOU'RE WONDERFUL! THAT'S ALL ABSOLUTELY TRUE AND YOU KNOW THAT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE AS WELL EVEN IF IT'S DEEP DOWN INSIDE YOU, MY SWEET AND GENEROUS FRIEND! THAT'S A PROMISE! I AM SURE OF THAT! KEEP FIGHTING AND KEEP ROCKING, MY DEAR, SWEET, BEAUTIFUL AND CARING FRIEND! Feel free to PM me ANYTIME if you need someone to talk to or vent to or if you need advice and support! I AM SURE PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE WILL ALSO BE GLAD TO GLADLY, KINDLY, WISELY AND WONDERFULLY HELP YOU OUT AS WELL IF YOU JUST ASK! THAT'S A PROMISE! I AM SURE OF THAT! Sending many safe, warm hugs to You, Your Son, Your Family, Your Friends And ALL Of Your Loved Ones, @KristenRenee! A surgery would stress out ANYONE, ESPECIALLY if our own children were involved in it! You're definitely not alone in your feelings! I hope that makes you feel a little bit better! I am SO SORRY that you're going through ALL OF THIS, MY DEAR, SWEET, WISE AND WONDERFUL FRIEND! KEEP FIGHTING AND KEEP ROCKING, MY DEAR, SWEET, AWESOME AND KIND FRIEND!
