I wrote to a friend, asking a question, leading me then to tell her what's going on w me in regards to that question. Its a stressful thing going on w me, and I felt the need to put it out there. It helped. She hasn't responded. She's not a close friend anymore. So I hope it was ok to divulge. I thought against it, but pressed send anyway. That may have been impulsive. Oh well.

I'm also ruminating on things that are upsetting to me, have been for like an hour. I'm going to go try breaking these thoughts up by knitting and visiting my parents.

Writing to a friend who isn't close but when we tell them something and they don't reply... leaves us wondering.

I don't knit but I do play the piano which distracts me from ruminating.

@Mendingmysoul I'm knitting a scarf I want to try socks at some point.

@Fuzzybear thanks. I can imagine playing piano could help distract you. That's great.

I have also been doing a lot of ruminating and I would feel better if I could stop. It’s hard to sleep when I do this. Watching comedies or reading usually helps me but lately it’s not helping. PM me if you want to talk.

Me too.

Wovengalaxy and Fuzzy you are both so talented! I wish I could hear Fuzzy play the piano, that would be great.

Lately I’ve been saying a word to snap me out of it. I chose a word that has meaning to me and when I catch myself ruminating I say the word out loud. Oddly enough it’s helping me a little. I did this too, the word was 'Rumple' like Rumplestiltskin in the fairy tale- it helped me a little too.
