When I'm feeling bad, I sit or lay on the floor

I need to stay on the lower ground

I can't sleep in the bed
It's too comfortable

So I take the thin "yoga mat" that I used for workouts (long time ago xD) and pretend to sleep on the floor with just a blanket in winter

Then I feel a bit better
And i imagine the floor to take me and absorb me, to make me disappear

I am so sorry you're feeling this bad. Whatever works for you is a good option, I suppose, as long as you don't hurt yourself. Perhaps trying out Yoga can be a good idea? Just a thought! I hope you'll feel better soon! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Gasplessy, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

I can relate to this feeling, when I lived near trails it was so good to walk near water, put my feet in, sitting and listening to the water, grounding feels right

Actually you are very in tune with your spirit and your body, Gasplessy. Sleeping on the ground is better for your mind and body; it improves circulation and alignment of your spine, it clears your head and can aid and correct the body's joints. When I lived in Asia, I often slept on a straw mat in my bedroom instead of inside the mosquito net covered queen size bed. Sure, I was eaten alive at night by mosquitos despite the incense cones I burned and insect spray I used, but I slept like a rock, pretending to be a rock on the ground. I slept without a pillow, sideways on the straw mat. And was super comfy.

I slept on the floor for years when I was sick despite having an excellent bed to sleep in. That doesn't sound odd at all to me. Go where you feel comfortable.

That sounds a great idea. Why care if it helps you? I think it is you can feel the support. When i first joined here i was v up set and spent hours lying on the landing. I also think walking or resting like sitting in nature like a park or woods or against a tree is v healing. If a tree imagine the strength of the earth flowing up through the roots emotionally feeding and supporting you

Thanks for the answers!

Yes, I think it's okay
It's not a problem

I just notice in my case there is probably something involving a sense of guilt or feeling not so ok
But when I do it i feel calm

Gasplessy you may feel 'bad' about doing something healthy, like lying on the floor to sleep or relax, because of the way society has conditioned us to associate comfort with sleeping on a mattress in a bed. It's all about associations. You can make new associations with your thinking and lying on the floor, by telling yourself that you feel good when you lay on the floor, that it has healthy benefits, that it is an act of self-preservation or an act of self-comfort. It's hard to reprogram ourselves -- I struggle every day to reprogram my negative self-thoughts but I still try to do it.

A couple of months ago I dragged my mattress off the box spring and now I sleep on only the mattress on the floor. I also feel more connected to myself when on the ground. Now my mattress is this little safe space, piled with blankets, pillows, and cats. Oh! And I stopped having chronic backaches when I started sleeping on the floor.

Someone i read wrote one should do all sort odd thing like sleep in the day and have your dinner at 3 am. I won't say who as i do not want to be seen as pushing any spiritual way. But it is something i often thought of.
I had xmas dinner with friends a few years ago and i said, as we played xmas games, it is funny how these games would be silly in July.

It occured to me we should have xmas dinner in July. This is not to make fun of you Gasplessy, Just saying we are too programmed as to what we do

Hey there LonelyMan I'm all about nonconformist views although (hypocrite that I am) I don't pursue what I really want to, which explains my current state.

I think the more we think/act/speak outside the box society has created, the more free we are, the more artistic we can become with how we create a good life with what resources and materials we have. Christmas in July would be awesome. Haha.

I agree with you. We are definitely 'programmed' (or 'brainwashed') as to how to think, act, and speak in order to be accepted and have access to everything in society. So many great novels and films address this moral dilemma too.

I am not bothered by the box society has created. I am a non conforming non conformist. When i wear sandals i deliberately wear different socks to see if people notice.

I may arrange xmas next july.

I know someone who was being annoyed by neighbours but they left him alone when he put up an xmas tree in summer
