Wowee, can I just say that my future looks so bright!

I might not graduate high school because I became suicidal earlier in the year and let my grades slip tremendously, including an F(am no longer suicidal). Now I'm gonna have to deal with the disappointment of my parents and grandparents, along with never getting a sufficient-enough career.

I probably have scoliosis (have seen a curve in my body since 2 years ago and it appears to be getting worse).

I have an episode of depression every year, without fail, sometimes two.

I have very few friends, and my social skills suck.

I have had trichotillomania for the past 5 years, and there has not been one time when at least 50% of my hair was missing (or shaved off). I am terrified of dating or having an intimate relationship with any guy now and I'm afraid none will ever love me if they find out this secret (not even my close friends know).

My life is going great. As augustus Waters said, I am on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend.

If you do not complete high school you will be able to pass the GED. Just as good as a traditional diploma from the perspective of colleges and employers.

You have many, many, many bright years ahead of you, Bookworm. Go easy on yourself. Just do what you can do. Ask for help when you need it. Everything will work out. Neither Bill Gates, nor Paul Allen, nor Warren Buffet was very "popular" as kids, as far as I know, and they turned out pretty well.

Hang in there. You do have a bright future. Just don't give up. You have to persevere when times are hard. It's not what happens, because life is going to happen, it is our response to what happens.

If you don't have a therapist, I would urge you to see if you can see one. There is no shame in it and they can be very helpful.

You may qualify for special ed. Depending on where you live you can continue at school past 18 if that is the case and they will accommodate you and make special learning plans so you can catch up. If you haven’t let the school know what’s going on you should because they can help.

I dropped out of high school and received a GED later. I went on to college and have a postgrad degree now. I am now contemplating returning to school for another degree. Just because you are having trouble now does not mean later in the future, you will have the same issues. We all age and mature. We learn from our experiences. So keep in mind, what is happening now will come to an end like all things in life. I would try not to let your present situation define your life and how you feel about your future. Please seek help from professionals about your suicidal tendencies and other medical/ mental issues. Hopefully, if you address your problems and deal with them in a constructive manner, you will go on to be happier and successful. Best wishes!

I screwed up HS big time. Went on to get a four year college degree and a long professional career. I didn't do it right out of school, worked stores, factories, restaurants for a few years first.

Honestly, I enjoy life to the full, I cannot complain because life is too short. No one knows the length of their days besides the almighty God Jehovah. I don’t try to think much of my future I just want to take life one day at a time. I recognized in life we cannot always accomplish all things at once but the little effort we make in achieving something is better than nothing.

I definitely do agree because no one knows their future
