Thanks for helping me turn my situation around. I appreciate your input. In truth I was pretty socially isolated before the pandemic...but had big plans to break out of it in 2020. I have lived alone for about 10 years since being empty-nested...but it is not my preference. However, I tend to get tunnel vision and not see the advantages of any given situation. I have to be honest and say that during the lockdown I decided to get rid of a few toxic people in my life. I had some bad interactions with them. I hate to describe them this way but they were "old wood." A few ended badly and the fall-out is what I think caused my depressed mood. Another "gift" is I have cleared the way for new more positive friendships. As far as certain family members...I just have to keep a distance. The only person we can change is ourselves. I think when I started this thread I was feeling broken-hearted about a lot of things. So much has changed in 12 weeks it is hard to keep up. I am feeling much, much, MUCH better. Today for the first time in 12 weeks I woke up cheerful. I thought, "Okay. So there is hope." You have a good name. I know you are going through some hard times yourself and I want to say...have hope, too. Whatever happens...is probably meant to happen. Life is full of hills and valleys. Sometimes the valleys are full of tears...but when we climb the hill we get a refreshing new view. Take care of yourself, sweetie, in these uncertain times, as we all must do. Thank you for your support and wisdom. It meant a lot to me. __________________ |

Kudos to you for making room for more positivity and more positive people in your life. Getting rid of "dead wood" so to speak is definitely a step in the right direction! Toxic people and toxic interactions only bring us more grief, upset, aggravation and negativity. So eliminating that from your life is a HUGE positive step!!!!! I have done the same for myself, and it's really helped. I am glad you're feeling much more hopeful. That must be such a relief! If we lose all hope, then we get dragged down into an abyss of sheer negativity and hopelessness, which does us no good. We have to have hope for better days and better experiences ahead. And in order to have those experiences, we must open ourselves up to them and make ourselves available to them. Losing toxic people and looking for more positive experiences is the right direction. And yes, I am personally living in absolute hell right now, but I will survive it and will come out the other side at some point. Not soon, but at some point it will end. And I REALLY look forward to that day! There is much in life to look forward to. And yes, self care is huge. I must be far better about this within my own life, but it's necessary. So do as much self care for yourself as possible too, and I am going to take the same steps. Hugs to you. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

I hoping that this horrible situation ends soon. It’s effecting people on all kind of deep levels. Finances, emotions, relationships, mental health, physical health.
Glad to hear you are staying strong and looking for positives. There is hope |
