Hello devinegirl: I see this is still just your fourth post here on PC. So I think it is, perhaps, not too late to say welcome to Psych Central.

I'm not a mental health professional. So I can't offer anything with regard to what may be going on with you. For that you may want to seek the services of a psychologist, a mental health therapist or a psychiatrist. In the meantime, you could also take some of the quizzes & tests that are on offer here on PC. There's a link to them in the banner at the top of the page.

I hope you're finding PC to be of benefit.

Hi. I was hearing voices for 12 years. Many of them were dark voices and many were loving voices. I would avoid listening to the voice that is telling you God says to do this, especially when it involves harm to you or someone else.. I would also seek the help of a mental health professional. You need to be safe and feel safe. This voice is harmful.

It’s normal to experience bad thoughts. We are exposed to so many stories and movies and even on the news of people doing good things and bad things.
Experiencing these thoughts based on so much exposure doesn’t mean it’s messages from some god or demon just because we experience these certain thoughts nor does it determine destiny.

I think it’s wisest to seek professional help. What I was told by therapists is that If the dark voices became intrusive or harmful and if the voices told me to do harmful things that I would need medications to squash the voices and or be hospitalized. I was hospitalized for the voices twice because I thought I was possessed by a deceased evil person. I heard his name all around me.

Just be careful and please seek medical help.
