I'm part of a Facebook group called "pay it forward" that donates items to people who could use them. At this time of year, i realize there are a lot of people who are really struggling and it makes me feel so great full for everything that I have. I have beautiful daughter, a loving family that I couldn't live without and that helps me soo much, and food in our cupboards, a roof over our head etc. I find myself feeling depressed as well because there are so many families out there that are struggling so much. I've read just in the last month, of at least 5 suicides/attempted suicides in my area. It's just so hard not to dwell on the sadness that some people experience at a time that's supposed to be happy. I am just so lucky, I don't know where I would be without my dad especially to help me so much, I can't imgine how these single parents on welfare do it with no family.

Sounds like you are grateful. Gratitude is so healing if you can wrap your brain around the idea without someone telling you that you should be grateful! I am alone and having some problems where I live, but I'm old enough to have some perspective and also good memories. I think marketing has done a real number on all of us. Way too many people max out their credit cards. I freed up some money and will be able to buy some food I like (vegan, organic) and go to a movie. I also plan to get to some church services if only to hear the special music. To answer your question: yes, pretty much!
