I feel terrible.. I've been feeling like this for weeks, getting sick when I eat, not wanting to talk to anyone.. Right now is pretty bad though. I just feel so down, and I don't feel like I can get back up... Mom is finally going to try to get me in with a phyciatrist, but she doesn't think I should go on meds. See, I feel everything around me, I always have. She told me she doesn't want me to loose emotions on meds.. I don't know though, I feel like sleeping and not waking up all the time. Does anyone have any advice?

I can honestly tell you that meds saved my life. They have a lot of side effects, but I was very suicidal. They are allowing me to LIVE. So I am biased, because I was barely able to get out of bed or sleep, let alone work - so meds helped me a lot...

I'm sorry you're feeling so badly.

I'm glad you're considering seeing a psychiatrist, and I know not everyone goes on meds to deal with depression, but it's a matter of personal preference and if it will help you. I hope you get a chance to discuss it with the doctor, and your mom too.

Take care of yourself.

Meds have came a long way over the years and can very well be life saving. Not all meds make you numb to the world or make you a drooling fool like you see on TV. I'm sure your doctor may like to try you on some sort of antidepressant. Just pay close attention when and if you start a new medication. You may have to try several before you find the right one for you. But when you find the right one, the difference therapy along with medication can make in your life will surprise you.

I'm glad the doctor/psychiatrist will be working with you and you all will have his input. Meds don't really make You different, they're to help "remove" the bad stuff, kind of like aspirin removes a headache. Hopefully all the grouchiness from the headache goes away but it doesn't make you happier/sadder or anything :-)

hello I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well at this time. I have depression as well and I have to take meds and I do fine actually most of the time. I hope you feel better soon when you start therapy and meds if needed. PM anytime if you wish. Take care Soidhonia

Thanks for all the support. I don't know what has been wrong with me lately though. It's been like this for weeks. I was in class today, and all I could think about was how I felt like I was going to hyperventilate lol. I don't know though, it just seems like it's getting out of hand.. I've thought about commiting myself so many times this weeks heh, but I guess that's just because I feel terrible.. I don't know..
