I like the way my sweater absorbs the smell of coffee shops, and I can still smell them in the fabric the next day.

I’m bumping this thread—and post—back up!

Ceph, you’re the greatest! I can’t say it any better than Bjornen, but just know that we love having you around, and you make a world of difference here

I have made a lot of progress toward overcoming driving anxiety.

I'm in my 50's and only got my license 4 1/2 years ago. Anxiety is compounded by the fact that I don't see well in the dark. So at night, or if it's stormy or very cloudy, I can't drive. Where I live, it gets dark very early in the winter, like around 4:00 PM, so if I go anywhere, I have to allow myself enough time to get home while I can still see. So, I don't get out much in the winter. Every spring, it's almost like learning to drive all over again.

So here it is, late December. There is snow on the ground, and the sky was overcast. Not ideal driving conditions.

And yet, today when I drove to my volunteer job, I was more nervous about walking across the parking lot than I was about driving there.

I’ve been having difficult, anxious mornings. Work stress is building up on me. The amazing thing is that just one Gabapenti plus practicing what my therapist has told me to do actually works.

I don’t know what I would do if I hadn’t discovered these things. Life is getting better.

The best possible thing you can do for yourself, is love yourself so unconditionally that it explodes from your insides, and then spills over into other people's lives, starting the chain effect of good feelings.

What a great thread! Just another reminder how wonderful people on PC really are.

I ran across an old proverb today that made me feel a little better in an abstract way.

"The sea refuses no river."

I was walking the dog along the road today and I could smell the lilac bushes in the ditch.

They just happen.

Thank you Fuzzy. I had forgotten about this little gratitude and positive thoughts thread. Re-reading it, I was very touched once again by the astonishingly lovely comments people made about me when I was more active in these forums. Thank you everyone.

We never know when a few kind words might really help someone get through the day. Like myself, people in this forum often find it hard to believe -- but you do make a difference.

Not such a small thing after all.
I've posted it before, but I appreciate this quotation:

Some of us are still here

I also appreciate that quote, it is excellent and so true

I send love to all here and those who are missing (purple and key tones and others)

Some may have moved on, or be absent at least for now, but I feel fortunate to have known them.
