My place is a mess, and it is too overwhelming to think about trying to get it picked up. Depression does that.
So, I’m going tackle it in baby steps. Sometimes my body aches with anxiety or fatigue while I try to pick out 5 things to donate or throw away, but I can get through it if I count to 5 then go sit back down. Sometimes I find just starting with the thought of getting to 5 is enough and I can do more. Sometimes it is as small as finding 5 items of trash on the counter. Does anyone want to play? I just picked up my laundry room by counting 5 things. Put towels away (I found them in a basket I must have folded before) Picked up stray socks Picked up stray hangers Emptied trash can in laundry room WIPed floor lightly w stray dryer sheet |

I like this, it's a good idea! I'm close to falling asleep for the night but tomorrow I will try it.

Broke down five boxes in the garage—I can see the shoe rack now!! Put five items away that were on the kitchen counter. Found five things in the garage to throw away. |

Been trying to do it in baby steps but the problem is I only ever accomplish the simple stuff when it has to be done (eg washing dishes, a bit of laundry or vacuuming) but the underlying deep clean really needed gets left and has done for months I need to employ a cleaner but too embarrassed to let anyone in |

This morning I took 2 bags of trash to the dumpster, I emptied the trash from the bathroom, I washed dishes and I picked up stuff off my kitchen counters.

Washed a load of laundry
Washed a load of dishes Cleaned off my little side table Cleaned off the kitchen counters Cleaned off the kitchen table I like this thread. I find it very motivational. I told my T I was doing it. She said it's a great idea. She's going to start doing it but with 3 items. |

THIS is the thread I need! Yes! Yes! Yes!
I need help with a routine to stay neat and orderly while living with my grandparents...so I will choose five things to implement in my routine. 1. Make my bed every day 2. Put on proper day clothes after my first cup (or two) of coffee. 3. Put away clean and dirty dishes 4. Fold and put away clothes 5. Brush my dog/pick up poop |

This is a great thread. I usually group my tasks into 3. Like cleaning the sinks would be one, loading and unloading the dishes two and cleaning out the frig three. Having said that, there is a room in my house that I must clean. It contains important papers and other things I need and can’t find. There are also so many unopened boxes of stuff I bought online while I was down. It’s been a mess for months and now it’s paralyzingly overwhelming.
I’m going to that room shortly and am going to just pick up 5 things to toss. Just 5 and then I’m going to watch a little TV then hit it again. I think this could really work! Will update later. |
