I’d probably have learnt the same thing.. with someone else. To be a good talker. How the **** do I teach myself that and all those other skills.

And there is at least one N in papa bears family. I do not “like” them ......

I am usually very calm and quiet. Years ago, I could see that I could easily out talk my husband though. This only made me be more cautious about giving him enough time to express himself, encouraging him to be fully honest with me, etc. We are more apt to overcome life challenges as a team.

I bite my tongue and take a few deep breaths while I make sure I am giving him the floor and also make sure I am listening and I validate him/his concerns.

I am very sorry your wife has chosen to be critical of you. Have you been able to tell her you feel this way?

I can no longer trust my wife with my problems...I am sad...
I am now becoming aware of how damaged she is and how she
remains secret about her problems...she is damaged goods also...
I am damaged goods and have a harder time hiding it...but I no longer
want to hide my problems....I am a human being with problems...
I no longer believe that I have some mental disease....I am no longer
in the DSM....and I hope that I can sh--can my celexa...I am scared...

I am very disturbed about young kids being given psych drugs...
when I first broke down at age 19 there were no psych drugs...
it was a terrible breakdown but I recovered and had a life until
my next break at age 34....

I agree, words said by a sub optimal therapist with a liking for power and control can be very damaging

And these sub optimal therapists.. when people consult them..some of the people learn or “perfect” their own skills ... of .. invalidation.

Instead of the therapeutic space being safe.. it can be far from safe.

I agree, this is disturbing.

Do you want to share more about what happened when you were 34?

I tried to have a private practice without using drugs
for me or my patients...after 6 years I had a very bad breakdown...
one of the main reasons was the development of a severe panic disorder
while I was in training to be a psychiatrist....I lost my confidence then...

I believe that the taking of psych drugs was damaging to my life...
but I survived and here I am...there is hope and help
