Yesterday I was at the store. Feeling heavy and sad about Christmas but doing my best to push ahead. There was a display in the store with a mannequin displaying women's clothing...a long dress. A father was trying to convince his 4 year old son to stop playing with the mannequin's dress...the child realized his father was embarrassed so naturally he persisted with great gusto...waving the dress around and shouting "Touch the lady!!! Touch the lady!!!" with a big grin on his face...then his 2 year old brother joined in the fun. It was hilarious. The father was becoming increasingly embarrassed until he made eye contact with me and saw me chuckling. Made me forget my troubles for a few moments!

Would anyone like to share something goofy, fun, or ridiculous that made you feel better even if only for a few seconds!

I remember sitting down to dinner and as well as the meat on our plates me and my sister had carots

she goes, " I hate carots, yuck!"

which started off a chain of reasons why we hate carots

which ended in us both laughing

also at school me and a friend ben made up a song why we couldn't do our homework

we didn't have paper, we didn't have a pen, we didn't have the questions, just something stupid and daft to make us giggle

here's something funny and goofy

when ever I go to the bathroom, I always end up singing " listen to the rithem of the fallen rain". it just comes natural

when I told a friend that me and her litirally went red in the face from laughter

she said eventually.... why, why do you do that (through more laughs)

One day years ago I decided it would be fun to embarrass my little sister. At the time we attended the same school. It was the last day of school before the Christmas break. I walked up to her in the hallway, gave her a big kiss on the cheek in front of her friends and shouted: MERRY KISSMAS LITTLE SIS!!!
She was mortified but also laughed and then we continued to laugh about it for years later.

When I was an undergrad, I was walking to class one morning. It was winter and there were giant snow banks lining the streets. I was walking by the bus stop when I suddenly saw a student go sideways out of the bus and land right in the middle of a huge snow bank. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in real life!!! Don't worry; she wasn't hurt. She got up and laughed her head off. I couldn't stop laughing the whole way to class. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. It was just so random and ridiculous!!!

One day I was walking to the bus stop with my sister to go to school. After a few minutes, my sister burst out laughing. I said "What's so funny?" She pointed to my shoes. I looked down and saw one brown shoe and one black shoe! Then I said: "Wow! I thought one of them felt different than the other!!!" which made her laugh even more! We laughed for about 10 minutes....while I walked back to change my shoes. Not my finest moment but definitely a fun memory!

I heard NFL players interviewed after a big game. Some of the startling insights they volunteered:

"I always tell everybody we're out there to play some football."

"You know, we're on the field just to play football."

"We came out to play."

when I was 9, I was introduced to the magical world of snow and sledding

I kept falling off the sled in to the snow, getting up again, getting back on the sled, falling off, getting back up, etc

I thought it was hilarious

so did everyone watching me from their windows

yesterday I got my nails repainted for after christmas.

the woman who was doing it remarked to me that she hated the smell of nail paint

I replied that, it wasn't the worst smell in the world- and that actually I quite liked the smell of itt

she then asked me what I thought the worst smell in the world is

I responded by saying that I used to know a woman called shauna who sweated so much that she constantly smelled and I called her " the avenger", because her arm was so hot all the time she stuck to what ever she touched

long pause...

then the woman doing my nails simply goes to me... well clearly you've never smelled my aunty. she's disgusting.

gross, but hilarious

I had the biggist grin on my face

Thank you for making this thread, HopefullyLost1211. These are all funny stories! I remember I used to call the elevator by name instead of pressing the button when I was little. Sending many hugs to everyone

one time me and a friend were watching harry potter and the chamber of secrets (I'd not sceen it, she had)

well, she kept calling out the spells or " harry's about to do this!", " the car's going to fly!", " ginny opened the chamber and not lockheart."

at the time it was so annoying.. she was shouting and I was right next to her- and she was spoiling it for me.

but now when I look back on it,

lol... how amusing!. it's nice to know the movie so well you know everything that's going to happen

one time me and a friend amelia went to the shop because I wanted to buy some tango sprays

at the time, none of us knew what they were called so we didn't know what we were going to say to the assistant

when we walked in to the shop, amelia took over, walked up to the assistant and said,

hello, could you tell me if you have any stick things?
the assistant litirally had no idea what we were after, and even after i tried to explain it was still an issue

now though if I go in the shop and see that assistant, she'll go... are you buying any stick things today?

lol

another time (also on the way to the shop) I saw a guy sitting by the door raising money for charity

well, he was so bored with what he was doing, he just repeated everything I said (in a dull, uninterested tone)

I was amused. it was like talking to a parot

Apparently when I was very young and focusing intently on something like writing, I would bite down with my tongue between my teeth making a strange face...I was completely unaware of this until my siblings pointed it out one day...they thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop laughing!

One day in childhood I was taking my time to decide which cereal I wanted to have for breakfast. So I decided to start singing to the different cereal options in a silly voice while I decided. I was really enjoying my cereal song until I realized that my older brother and his friend were behind me laughing. My cheeks must have been bright red at the time but looking back...it makes me smile. Maybe I'll sing a cereal song again some time
