Gave a homeless person a dollar. But I try to do that quite regularly or I give them a smoke if they ask :-)

A friend of mine entered a giveaway to win some products. She didn't win, so I bought the products for her and had them shipped to her house.

I participated in a gift swap once. One lady got cheated out of her gift. I bought her a few things so she wouldn't be too disappointed.

A friend of mine was living with an abusive roommate. They were too afraid to go into the kitchen to cook, so I ordered food for them and had it delivered.

I helped a friend move once.

Every year, I participate in a Secret Santa event for poor children. I always ask for 2 wish lists to try and get more kids happy. The person who organizes it always has a hard time getting enough wishes fulfilled, so I try to take 2 lists.

How kind you are, KD1980!

I must admit that I used my son to comfort someone on more than one occasion as a baby. About the same time, when he was 5 months old, I took him to a conference with me as I was still nursing. I sat in the back of the room so I could make a quick exit if I needed to. Another man sat down next to me and after awhile asked if he could hold the baby. I let him, since he was sitting next to me. After he gave the baby back another man came up to him and asked him how he was doing. He said he had been having a very difficult time lately. I was glad my son gave him a little respite from that. Interestingly enough, my son has grown into a very empathetic young man, so I guess these experiences didn't warp him.
