So I got my drivers license last week and instead of being happy i feel down I live with my mom telling me what to do and we always get into an argument for simple little things. I tend to also just agree to what she says to avoid a argument because she is very religious and whats me to believe in god just like her when i tell her how i feel she always like u feel like that because u are an atheist you dont believe in god and she tells me I feel depress because Im not Jehovah Witness just like her i feel she is a narcissist and im turning into her in some type of way and I do go out much and i isolate myself for days at a time I want to find way to get my life back on track also i stop going therapy 2 years ago but i started going agin. Some days i feel like dying but i know suicide is not an option and it does get better because i been in worst places in life btw i just trun 20 but i feel like a kid Im ebrassed of my situation

Maybe what you are feeling about yourself is too deep to be cured by achievement.

I can relate absolutely.

Keep in touch.

Hang in there. Overbearing parents can be really difficult to deal with.

I’m glad you are back in therapy. If Prozac isn’t working for you, you might try something else. I hope you feel better soon.

Good for you, Zachary. Sometimes it helps you just to know you’re taking some steps on your own behalf. Sometimes it can take a bit of self-exploration before you can get a clear picture of what is really bothering you and just what you might be willing or able to do about it.

For me, Prozac has been a miracle drug, but you must understand that it takes some time, usually a couple of weeks, to build up to a therapeutic level in your bloodstream. So if you are just taking it sporadically, it might not have the chance to do that. Also, dosages can be quite individual. It took my body a couple of months to really adjust to the drug, so that for awhile I felt jangly and shaky, and even lost some weight! Eventually things settled down and returned to normal.

Do keep in touch and let us know how things are going for you. 🌹
