I can’t sleep , I tried to smoke pot to help and it does but it makes my anxiety worse and my depression worse as well. I’ve been through so much and I’m struggling with my Christian belief because of events in my life. I used to love going to work but now it feels more of a chore then work , I feel like I’ve been dragging and I used to be like this when a big relationship ended , it took two years to recover. Now everything is back and I think it has a lot to do with the death of my best friend my Nonny (grandmother). I feel like I’m having a mental break down and like the days are fading away. I’ve been through worse then this , I’m a rape survivor and it doesn’t haunt me anymore so why is it that this is haunting me.

I can't sleep either
their's more chance of practicing quiditch with harry potter at hogwarts than their is of me sleeping. nothing works for me medication never seems strong enough, music makes me want to go and play with the volume (I am obsessed with playing with switches) meditation triggers my creative mind, and before you know it i'm at my computer writing a story/poem quiet rooms just make me want to turn the music/ tv up so it isn't quiet. reading doesn't work because if I find it boring, I'll just go to my creative writing and do a chapter or 2 boring tv shows don't work because i'm quick to switch over to something more interesting, and then i'm focussed on that show counting sheep (whhich I never really believed in anyway) makes me want to imagine what the sheep are doing, and sing a song about them just lying their doesn't work because I don't get tired (I don't get the signals to rest) and my back hurts too much from the fibro so sooner or later I look for a distraction |

I am so sorry that your Nonny passed away. I don't think that having suffered multiple bad things makes your grief any less when something else happens. Are you seeing a therapist or grief counselor? As for sleep, there are as many recommendations out there as people. You're right though, pot (and alcohol) make depression worse. Keep posting so we know how you are doing.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother and in the past I’ve read about when someone is worried and can’t sleep they write down the problems or worries. Then with worries written down it helps them be go sleep or in theory it does anyway. I’m tired tonight and slept poorly last night due to inadequate sleep since need 7-8 hours and slept maybe 4-5 hrs. Sometimes it’s a lack of discipline and I need to make myself just get to bed on time and other times I get to bed, but lay there and the last thing I can do is fall asleep.
