I don't know if I've gained weight, but today when I went on my short walk, my back was in knots. Normally I can do that walk. I was hoping to go to a shop today. I rarely get out of the house. But because of my back, I don't think I can. And I was really looking forward to it. I'm very disappointed and I'm trying not to feel sad.
In two weeks, I see my back doctor. I've been doing physical therapy. I need a better solution. I'm going to ask for an injection. I hope he says yes. I'm so worried he will shoot me down. I guess if he does, I'll get a second opinion. __________________ ‘Live for now,’ ‘This too shall pass,’ ‘Everything is happening for my good.’ |

I have back pain too. I have done physical therapy but I need to do the exercises more to help my muscles become stronger to escape the pain. Change doesn't happen as quickly as we want. And tiny habits like doing the back exercises will help in he long term. I wish we both had relief but I want to learn from the experience more than have an instant solution that gets me quickly out of pain. Maybe it's the same for you too?!

For four years I've been pretty much house bound. I can't walk or stand for very long. I need a solution that will help me walk so I can lose the weight necessary to fix my back. I've tried weight loss and PT. I'm ready for the next option.

Thanks! I love online retail therapy too. I might order myself something healthy to eat today. I've been ordering myself nice things like jewelry. I just found a ring I really like. It will be here on Wednesday.
I weighed myself today. It's not the weight that hurt my back this time. I actually lost weight. I wonder if it was one of the exercises I did that irritated my back. That happens a lot. But therapist just gives me more exercises to do. PT has helped some but often I am in more pain and in different places. I know if I could walk 30 minutes every day, things will get so much better. __________________ ‘Live for now,’ ‘This too shall pass,’ ‘Everything is happening for my good.’ |

I injure my back doing yoga all the damn time. What is your back diagnosis, if it is not too intrusive to ask?

When I saw the doctor he said I hurt because I was overweight and that I need weight loss surgery. I looked into surgery and it's not something I'm comfortable with doing. That's why I think if the doctor gives me an injection, I'll be able to walk and lose the weight and therefore fix my back.
