I started reading my new book STARING AT THE SUN by the psychiatrist Irvin yalom....overcoming the terror of death... I don't think I will ever get there....my fear is too great.... |

I am trying to be kind to myself this morning...
this is very hard today...but I am almost ready to forgive myself for breaking down in 1973... that was the big one...I could no longer practice psychiatry....sounds strange...I have been blaming myself.. that is not right...and I blame psychiatry for its awful ways....it happened...I still don't know why.. it doesn't matter now...my breakdown is ok...ok.. no fault breakdown...it is ok LT...as is...you are ok.. this stuff takes a lot of practice...it just doesn't happen without focus on kindness and patience... |

Death of an idol
I agree, Little Turtle. Death can be such a cruel thing. I have a friend who looks like Eddie Redmayne, who stars as Stephen Hawking, in Dr.Hawking's biopic, The Theory of Everything. I sorta have feelings for him (forbidden, since I am a boy also) and I cannot stand the fact that time will eventually erase our relationship and we'll both grow old and die. But hey... life was never supposed to be perfect. You would not want to suffer forever by living forever. I miss my childhood as I will miss my youth in my 40's. That's why it's said you only get one shot. Me and him, will never be. I know. But I don't lose my sleep over it anymore. You can't change the Universe's laws, little turtle. |

thanks fuzzy....major problem with wife and me...turned out to be
a major problem that I have...I need to own it...I have so much GUILT about breaking down and not working ....started in 1973... lasted about 4 years...........I have been BLAMING myself over and over...now I really NEED THE AS IS BUS and all my friends in it... I have been so ASHAMED and that is not good at all... |

Can't say about anyone else, but I've learnt an important lesson in my life.

That does not mean I cannot do it now and get admission into one of the most reputed research institutes for my PhD. I'll try. It's everything I can do. Also, I miss the good parts of my past. I don't feel lonely, but I still feel pain when I think where I'll be by three years from now, by the time I finish my BSc. My friends, they'll be scattered and hard to come in contact with. We'll forget and move on. It's so sad for me. |
