Wow! I just want to jump in right now! And I love waterfalls. I like to imagine that there's some sort of secret behind them or a key to the mystery of life! Haha. It's a weird place in my mind but it can also be a lot of fun.

Thank you Happy Crafter for adding beauty to my day.

So I finished watching theRadBrad's gameplay of the game Dying Light (doing that for at least last couple of days) and after seeing the ending, I was like, "Wow...."

One thing I realized after watching the game is, that 'chaos' never wins. It's people like Kyle Crane (the game's protagonist) who win. It's the heroes who win. Not every time, of course, the efficiency for a war is not always hundred percent, there are some losses. I won't spoil the story for you, but if you have the time, check it out.

Here, if you cannot afford the game, or you don't have a powerful PC, you can watch theRadBrad playing it for free, on YouTube.

YouTube

So, the series of videos may take a quite bit of time to watch. And I, talking from experience, was addicted to every single moment of the game. But hell yes, it's worth to watch this game in your free time.

Kudos to TheRadBrad for being such an amazing person. He may not be the best at playing games, but man, his videos really brighten my day up.

Thank you. That was it, I just wanted to share some light with the PC world, and anybody else who's reading.

Edit : I forgot to mention this game was released back in 2015. How I found it then? I was watching the game Brad currently plays, called as Days Gone and in between the time he was uploading new episodes, I remembered he mentioned the game Dying Light while playing the game Days Gone so I went to his channel and got hooked to the game.

Today, two guys came to take away my washer and dryer and install the new ones. They had gotten the old ones out and loaded onto their truck. A little bit later, one of the guys timidly told me that he couldn't install the washer because there is a 3 inch piece on the back that prevents it from being flush with the wall, and therefore won't fit in the drip pan. I was shocked and upset - not at him - but I had arranged it so I could work from home to be here when the delivery arrived. I had done a lot of cleaning and moving things around in preparation - which took a huge amount of energy and exertion over the weekend. I felt a wave of disappointment wash over me. But, I told the guy that I knew it wasn't his "fault," and I appreciated that he had been honest and not just installed it anyway.

I offered him and the other guy some water. It was a hot day, and they were both visibly affected by it. The guy who gave me the bad news immediately said "yes!" - but the other guy said he was okay. I got the one guy a cup full of ice and water (I don't use bottled water, so I couldn't give him a "to go" water). While he was drinking his water, I went back outside and asked the other guy again. I even sweetened the deal by saying, "It's good county water - tasty!" He laughed, and accepted. So, I got him a big cupful of ice and water and took it out to him They were both so appreciative. The one guy said, "I've never had a customer offer me a beverage before."

I have a large bay window with no curtains in front of my house. Early in the morning I watch a mother rabbit and two baby rabbits munching grass. Yesterday, I saw a chipmunk. We have a bird feeder set up and see lovely birds and for some reason the occasional hummingbird and several butterflies are drawn to the flowers we’ve planted. It’s quite lovely and peaceful.

I saw both of these moments unfold while I waited for a ride. I was standing alone inwardly fighting the heartbreak of depression...feeling like a dead person with a heartbeat...and then I saw the following and smiled and felt a bit more human.....

Papa Bear at the store with his little daughter. He was clearly having a busy and stressful day. It was starting to rain. He already had a huge umbrella big enough for two but he bought his little girl her own colorful umbrella...."WOW!! I get my very own one! This is SO great!" She was delighted.

Another Papa Bear carrying his son into the store in the rain. He pulled part of his boy's hat over his eyes....it was a game they were playing. His son kept giggling and said: "I can't see you but I know it's raining!!!" and then his father chuckled and kissed his face.

Their love was apparent and it was beautiful.

The Beauty Thread

Carl Sagan had such a beautiful mind. His parents were barely able to feed their family. But they nurtured his innate, as I evaluate it, brilliance from a very young age. Sagan was extremely influenced by astronomy and scientific thinking, so much that many people understood our place in the Cosmos better.

I find it amazingly beautiful that Sagan was able to popularize science. His contribution to generations and generations led many people to understand our position better in the cosmos. I like to think people became educated and in the then-future, it led to less violence against each other. What's more beautiful than enjoying science and serving humanity by popularizing a way of thinking so great that it's unimaginable what would have happened if it did not exist?

I, too, would have loved to popularize science. And here on PsychCentral, it's a bit ridiculous but it's what I try to do. But unfortunately due to the loss of my innate abilities and the now evident brain damage and resulting psychosis I have, I do not think I will be able to be successful as a professor and as someone who outreaches science. I will just make things worse. So I better not try it.

But yes, I find Carl Sagan's mind to be beautiful.

(When he died, on 20th December 1996, exactly four years later I was born on 21st December 2000. The one day difference may be accounted for different time zones. I find this fact to be beautiful.)

Charles Frederick Worth was an English fashion designer who founded the House of Worth, one of the foremost fashion houses of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is considered by many fashion historians to be the father of haute couture. Worth is also credited with revolutionising the business of fashion.

These are two gowns he designed:

This one reminds me of a gown Miranda Ricardson wore in the 1999 film Sleepy Hollow.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing HappyCrafter.

Did you ever see the TV program years ago The House of Eliott? About two sisters making dresses. My sisters and I were obsessed with it back in the day. Disclaimer: I was very young when i watched it a long time ago....distant memory....no idea what I'd think of it now. Maybe worth a look?

YouTube

i remember as a young girl, I wanted to be Evie. Bahahaha.

I am a legal adult and I want to become the Last Dragonborn and go to the land of Tamriel in the world of Mundus. Haha.

Edit : Humor (which is based on facts) aside, I really regret my choice of not taking math at higher level. One of my dream jobs, that will never be accessible to me, is becoming a programmer at Bethesda Softworks. Here you need math as a subject to get into engineering college. And no engineering degree means no job for you, unless you took math at higher level. Without an engineering degree I would not have visa permissions either. It really sucks, how one mistake can ruin some part of your life filled with potential.

I find StarTalk to be amazing. I am learning so many things by watching it. The video I've linked above, consists of everyday astrophysics. Questions from Twitter were compiled and Neil Tyson answered those questions in an extremely elegant way. I cannot find a better video to spend your 50 minutes watching.

It's really interesting and fascinating, the talk. So if you have the time to watch it (50 minutes), by all means go for the video I've linked above.

"It really sucks, how one mistake can ruin some part of your life filled with potential."

Or perhaps that just didn't need to be one of your paths in life, LC? The older you get, the more you'll see that there are many avenues we can take in life....it's really not about the "right" one versus the "wrong" one.....the paths we choose are not the source of our peace and happiness. Those stem from taking time out from the decisions and pressures associated with choosing paths. You are very attainment-oriented. I understand that and I also recommend leaving some room in your mind for experiences that have nothing to do with work and credentials. I completed grad school with plenty of letters after my name. I've successfully worked in two different careers. None of that brought me true peace or joy. Seriously. Peace and true happiness are no more related to academia and work than to wealth and physical beauty. Peace lies within you; not externally to you. It cannot be purchased in a store or obtained in university or acquired at the gym or salon.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching. I don't mean to. I just sincerely wish someone had said that to me 10-15 years ago. But better late than never for me
