Are you able to suspend judgment on others? Or at least not vocalise it?
Or do you think being judgmental is a helpful quality? I think over time I’ve been too non judgmental of people. I tend to assume the best in people. I tend not to usually assume the “worst” in people. Which makes me “stupid” .... possibly.......since I’m a survivor of multiple abuses in childhood and beyond There’s also that old cliche / saying ... something like “give a dog a bad name” If I am unkind to someone I usually wouldn’t expect kindness back. One of the reasons I try to be kind, Although nobody is perfect. I’ve made many mistakes and I’m “good at” beating myself up for my mistakes I said something to papa bear a while back, completely unintentionally, that hurt his feelings. Fortunately we were able to work it out that same day. Another old saying “never let the sun go down on anger” And “I was angry with my friend I spoke my wrath, my wrath did end I was angry with my foe I spoke it not, my wrath did grow” I don’t necessarily agree with the above. But certainly being shut down in therapy etc hasn’t been helpful to me. I was instructed to express all my feeling... and then blamed for speaking.... (Not about anyone on pc) __________________ |
