Hi TheLonelyChemist. I am sorry you feel trying is pointless.

For me when things get very challenging is when I realize that life is not happening the way I expected it to. It is almost like I am trying to predict which way the river will flow. It just flows and I have not control of it, but it still flows.

For me the reason to get out of bed in the morning is not simple but I have a routine and it defines my life to some extent. I guess I prefer the certainty of being alive to the uncertainty of the unknowns of not being alive. I think if I reach some person, any person, and they feel a little joy or comfort, then that is the point for today. Maybe tomorrow will be something else.

Mindfulness teaches us to focus on the breath or the senses and avoid dwelling on the self fulfilling prophesies of the mind. If you are interested there are some short videos here. YouTube

There's always a point in trying - there's always a chance at success, no matter how slim it may be - it's a chance.

There is no point in not trying. What comes of not trying? Nothing. No good. No bad. No chance at success at all. No chance at failure either, true - but only bc you already failed by not trying. So the question is ... what's the point in NOT trying?

Remember - you are stronger than you think! You CAN succeed - but ONLY if you try. ❤

Thank you all for your replies.

So I am worried about my driving license. It'd require paper work. I am not sure the government employees would hand me my license because I have some serious apparent health issues (mostly psychiatric, e.g. anxiety)

I have seizures n psychiatric problems. If you have a doctor who will back you and say you are fine to drive, most places will allow it - even if it is something that could possibly have complications for driving. Only psychiatric things that could be problematic I can think of are those which cause black outs or dissociation. But again - if you have a doctor saying it is controlled enough to be safe to drive, most places will allow it.

Does this help?

My doctors did say I am fit to drive. But I am a bit worried about prejudice. Thank you. Your information relieved my anxiety to a certain level.
