I have to say I have no idea what my greatest extravagancy is. I am trying to make do with the money I have as long as possible in an as civilized manner as possible. So I darn my socks. My extravagancies maybe used to be things like wearing a hairnet in public. Wearing jumpers inside out. This is something I still might do. I think I always wanted life to be a long smooth ride with little irregularities. I think this unnatural desire for regularity (in form, not necessary in content) is part of my mental illness. A desperate search for security.

Books. I do that. Only the cheapest used books. I do that too often, because it's such a cheap way to have something interesting sent to you.

Whoops! Got behind.

Q3. I find my perfectionism and insecurity equally deplorable.

Q4. I get Glossybox, Ipsy Glam Plus and Birchbox each month. That and gourmet jelly beans.

Bonus Q. Anxious trying to get everything done before vacation Saturday.

Bonus Round! My first thought was "I'm in a New York state of mind..."

But, for reals, though - my current state of mind is "really good."

Bonus question

I am left wondering why can't I have the career of my choice.

1) Medicine ruled out by personal doctors.
2) Engineering (programming especially) ruled out by fate.
3) Physics doctorate ruled out by impulsivity and fear of failure.

But on the positron (pun intended) side of things, I can still get a doctorate in chemistry and publish physical (related to the / of the field of physics) theories if I work hard enough in times where there seems no way out.

And even if I end up doing something I don't love, I won't regret it. As Silver and other members have pointed out, life is not a destination but a journey. I may, in the end, do what I should do and enjoy it and make a difference, a perfect combination.

Other than that, I am doing good. Thinking about things positively.

My current state of mind is not good. I am wondering if I can trust a higher power, when he led me to leave a university

Meekness. As defined by several books that discuss virtues (aka values): "Having a serenity of spirit while focusing on the needs of others."

I don't know if abstinence is actually listed as a virtue but it is often spoken of as though it is a virtue. If so, it's a highly overrated one in my opinion.
