I am not crazy about politics either. However, I paid no attention to them until Trump became President. Now, I pay more attention but I cannot believe what comes out of the mouths of some politicians!

@SilverTrees

What I hear coming out of Mr Trump's mouth makes me cynical because he is evidently only interested in what benefits him.

Many things bring our my cynical side. The one that gets me going most is people who act like aholes - especially when I see bullying going on.

politics
Looked up the definition of cynical:
1. believing that people are motivated by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity.
"her cynical attitude"
2. concerned only with one's own interests and typically disregarding accepted or appropriate standards in order to achieve them.
"a cynical manipulation of public opinion"

Yes, this describle politics. It also sucks when you have to work for people like this. This is why I have changed jobs or positions on a few occassions. In the jobs I have enjoyed, I could trust those who had power over me (my supervisor, the rules and those that enforced them, etc.) It is so important for leaders to have integrity and that they be motivated to help others, not just themselves.

Manipulative people. I have one of those in my immediate family and after awhile you just start getting cynical about people.

5:30 am. The first few hours of the early morning that I take for myself when all is still and quiet fill me with hope and peace.

What was the last personal letter you received?

I'm going to have to think about that one. It's certainly been a long time. Hmm.

Emails (do you agree ) are the "new" personal letters though I just wrote a short note (three sentences) to someone I sent a check to today.

Excellent point @TunedOut! In that case, I received a beautiful and kind personal letter from a caring friend just yesterday. Aw! Thanks for putting a different perspective of that...my brain didn't even think of emails. And I already had my coffee....oh dear! Hahaha!
