Whatever. I’m not always the most “patient” person.

Does depression ever make YOU less patient with others?

Does this make you a “horrible person” if you also have needs for support?

Papa bear said “only peace is allowed in this kitchen”

I don’t blame him at all...

Do your MI issues ever make you feel like a “burden” to others?

I’m sure it does.... I’ve often heard people saying they feel like a “burden”

Is it possible that if we are kinder to ourselves we might feel a bit better?

I certainly am not the most patient person at all. Take for example when i first joined the forum here. I posted a few threads and didn't get response in what I thought was a timely manner and was about to leave the forum. Until a few members reached out to me and made me comfortable here so I stayed. So I am certainly not a patient person.

I also don't deal with many people in my life except for really close people and I doubt they see me as a burden to them. Sure I am harder to deal with because of my issues, but they never say anything to me about it.

I am very impatient. I don't have much headspace

I often feel a burden.

My snake is very negative because of the ongoing stress....

The culture she creates makes life unhappy

Much love to all

I think mental illness can make a person irritable and impatient. It can be hard on families sometimes. But we all have our flaws. I try to love myself despite my flaws. Not that it's easy.

I've wondered the same thing!!!! Thanks for being open about the struggle. We need to be more open with ourselves. If that's possible. For me I sure hope it's possible to be comfortable in your own skin.

Anxiety, intertwined with my depression, can make me impatient with others at times.

"Horrible" - no, objectively. Occasionally problematic or annoying - yes.

My MI issues
1) make me feel like a burden, and
2) definitely make me a burden to a small handful of others.

Depression is such an odd and many-sided illness. In my experience, being kinder to myself (insofar as I am able) has made me feel better, had no effect, and made me feel worse.

Hugs Mickey, I don’t think you’re a burden at all. You’ve always been one of the kindest, most supportive, most respectful of others, most inclusive posters here. That matters! You matter! If you’re talking about irl, I sort of know what you mean, MI can be such a burden to us and we feel guilty etc ...and we feel like a burden to others even if they are kind (or maybe especially if they are kind). I’m also sending many safe, warm hugs to you and to Everyone. Much respect and love
