Realizing that at some point must get therapy or do something. Do not want to face that I’m depressed, maybe have mild OCD, almost autistic since have learning disorder, non verbal learning disorder. Have to face it, it’s strong to get help or I mean to say it is not a sign of weakness to ask for help, but I’m stubborn and want to carry on with business as usual, but just cant sometimes. Ugh.

I always feel the hardest part is that first step. I know it's hard, but I believe in you.

There is nothing wrong with seeking help. Sometimes we just need an extra hand to help us out. Sounds to me like your hands are full and you need someone to open the door for you. Instead of asking for someone to open the door you are being stubborn (your words not mine) and fumbling around with everything. It's too much and you realize that. Eventually if you don't ask for help you're going to drop everything. Once that happens things will become exceedingly more difficult.

True and I will seek help and have a plan with going to group support for grief and seeking individual treatment. Taking the first step is difficult, but willing to do it.

We all need help at some time in our lives. You couldn't possibly do everything on your own. Some of us are in the unfortunate position of not getting support that is helpful to us from the people in our lives.

I would just say that not all modes of therapy and not all therapists are good for all people. So evaluate as you go and ask questions.

I would recommend writing down your goals and expectations, then sharing them with the counselor/therapist. Also make note (some kind of journal, or daily point notes on your phone, or whatever works for you) of where you are at now and how you are feeling. The important point is to not later rely on your memory or changing feelings. Set a time frame for some kind of progress or movement. If it doesn't seem to be happening after that time, raise the issue with whatever person you are working with. If you don't get adaptation, start looking elsewhere for someone who can help you better.

Best of luck!
