The goal today has been to stay busy. Just stay too busy to think. I've written a lot, an entire chapter and another small short story all in one day. I cleaned the kitchen and the bedding for the guinea pigs. I took the dog on two walks today and will probably go for a third. I just can't let myself stop, at the very least think. I have to stop thinking, I just have to. My thoughts have gotten so savage and unrelenting.

Just saw a brief article online about an anti-thought technique: What you do is focus on something - anything - say a chair or table, and start describing it to yourself. Like, it has 4 legs. It's made of wood. It's about 30" tall, etc. This should pull your focus away from whatever you were focussing on before.

Thanks for all of the love, everyone. I really appreciate it. Today's another hard one and I've done nearly nothing but waste time online. It's more difficult for other reasons, though, so I suppose I can manage the depression a little today. Lesser of the two evils and all that jazz. Anyway, like I said, thanks for being here for me. How are you today? I hope today has been easier. I found that once I forgave myself for the suicidal thoughts, the thoughts have decreased. I also got busy and went to grad school and religion.
Try to write more but write about happy thoughts and feelings. It does help. I have been writing about my studies and it helps even when I get frustrated with what the instructors want. |
