Hello all, this is my first post here although I've been on the crazy train and the med go-round for about 20 years. Until about Easter this year I had been pretty close to remission for about 6-7 years but since then It's been a spiral downwards. I have been on 300mg of Effexor and valium for about six years and I'm pretty sure that has totally crapped out on me.
I was impatient self-admitted a couple of months ago. Just like my outside doc the inside doc just wanted to add a helper for the Effexor. I think they are just not wanting to go to a new "main" med because of the withdrawal from a med like Effexor when you are already in a bad place mentally. My question is how much worse can it get than as bad as it gets? Zero appetite, losing a lot of weight, zero interest in anything. Wouldn't that be the best time to dump a nonworking med and try another one?
Sorry if this is turning into a ramble but this time I have a couple of symptoms that are new to me and am wondering if anyone else has ever seen them. The first is when a bad wave comes over me my arms and legs get a feeling of numbness, like not totally numb I can still feel them but kind of like a "heavy numbness" it's hard to put into words. The second one is kind of indelicate and male-related, so guys, when you are in a really low point, does it ever seem like big Jim and the twins are like a turtle pulled up into its shell?
If anybody takes the time to read this rant thanks.
