My s.o. got admitted to the hospital last night - 4rth time so far just in 2020. It feels like playing Russian roulette. Each time, he might die . . . and then he doesn't.

I'm so grateful that he doesn't. But to be threatened with such loss over and over and over and over, waiting for the gun to finally fire. How many empty chambers are left?

My birthday is coming up. I am alone so purchased birthday gifts for myself online. (I told others not to bother with cards or gifts.) I don't feel badly about being alone. I have learned to treat myself well on my birthday even when alone. I give myself good gifts. It is what it is. I will probably go hiking.

Early in the morning I had an unpleasant encounter with a neighbor. The guy had a dog and it wasn't on a leash. I recall getting an email from the apartment manager saying that dogs should not run loose in the complex. I don't have a dog, so that rules me out. The guy got nasty with me when I told him about it. No surprise since he's a jerk. One time his dog approached me when I was in the laundry room and sniffed my "private parts". I don't like strange dogs doing that to me. Also I have a fear of dogs.

I'll go on a bike ride later. Nothing lined up for the rest of the day and night, except to watch a movie.

The day was alright but then things took a bit of a nosedive in the late afternoon. I was on a roll with one little thing going wrong after another.

First, I decided to leave work for about a half hour around 2:30 so that I can go to a bank and cash a check. This is weird, but the company I work for sends me a "residual" check (like around $65) after I receive an electronic deposit. I went to the bank that's printed on the check instead of my bank; and then was told that it's not on their account. So after waiting about 10 minutes, no dice!

And then when I got back to work, there was a problem with a leaking pipe. The security guard asked me where I was. The maintenance man is still out, but it's his last day off. After that experience with the bank, I didn't need that. Well at least that problem with the leaking pipe was taken care of.

I got home and held a bag on one hand and my NuWave Oven on my other arm. When I set the NuWave down to the counter, like I've done many times, it got away and fell on the floor. Part of it cracked. And then in the mail, I got a statement that I owe money to the dentist. I had work done four months ago and I had already paid a balance with the dentist and the insurance.

So that's how it all went today.

Wow! It sounds like you had a really stressful and bad day. What have you done to try to turn the day around? I'm sorry this happened to you. :
