What works for me is knowing that if I took Mondays off every week, I would likely be let go from the job for being unreliable. But it sounds like you are able to get away with it, so that deterrent doesn't seem to exist for you.

On days when I really don't feel like going in, I just force myself to do my usual morning routine (shower, get dressed, breakfast) and don't allow myself time to stop and think. It's when I allow myself to stop and think that I become more anxious and come up with reasons to stay home. It may sound simple but it has worked for me. I've been at my job for over 4 months and have only called in sick once. Much better than my attendance history at previous jobs. Good luck!

I think it's great that you are working. I agree with scaredandconfused. The hardest step is the first one. If you can get some momentum going you'll more then likely get to work on Mondays and feel better as well. Sending big hugs.

I would agree with the others and just add that physically getting out of the house does a lot for me.

Perhaps you could add something to your Monday routine on your way to work. Something you need to pick-up or take care of. Or maybe eat breakfast out somewhere on Monday instead of making breakfast at home. Then you can focus on just getting that much done if nothing else. And once you've then got that far, the rest is easier.

I don't know about what helps you, but often times what helps me motivate myself to wake up for work or school is to have either an energy drink or some type of tasty snack in reserve half way across my apartment to motivate myself to wake up. For me, getting up in the morning is the hardest part and that helps me.

Also, another thing that might help if you live somewhere with Uber and Lyft is to keep some cash in reserve for it and call for a ride on Monday or whenever you are lacking the motivation to go instead of driving or riding the bus and use that to force yourself out the door.

Working sucks I know but hopefully one day you can find something that you enjoy doing. I would find what that is and make steps towards reaching such a goal.

Yes I struggle with this as well. If I don't get up as soon as the alarm goes off my odds of staying home for the day go up. It's all about giving myself time to let the bad thoughts take over. If I just get up and get in the shower I'm usually goid to go.

What works for me is finding time to stretch my body the night before. Though, considering how I can be and how much more often I need to stretch due to walking a lot, 3 hours may be too long for some people.
