Hi. I can't find the right thread to post on, so decided to do this. I am not clinically depressed. I do fine, in spite of some difficulties. But off & on I feel extremely sad. It hurts immensely. And then, the sun comes out & I'm ok. I mean this (about the sun) metaphorically, but also because I love the sun. Anyway, if you can relate to this & have anything to offer, I would really appreciate it.

I'm only mildly depressed too. I also love the sun as it is Winter here and it cheers things up immensely. I rarely feel sad tho. I get waves of more discouragement, desperation, frustration, irritability. I welcome sadness. I find it quite refreshing.

With sadness, I try to accept when I feel sad and live in it until it moves on. Resisting it and questioning it is why it seems to hurt.

I can relate to how you feel when the sadness hurts so much. I’m happiest when the sun is out (metaphorically and irl) . Sending hugs and positive vibes.

I kind of know what you are talking about. I'm not clinical depressed, but sometimes feel this sadness. It feels like waves that strike you. I would like to think "If they're waves, let them go through you". One moment I could feel so low, but later I may feel better, just with some time and thinking...hopefully.

Where I come from, there is this fragment of a song. Actually, it's a poem used in a song. It translates, roughly, like this:

"The hole that stands in front of you has exactly your size.
I don't know if you're going to fall or not.
All I know is that love is tenacious and comes up again, like the sun"

I like to think of this "love" as "self-love". It may sound cheesy but, when you're down, just keep pushing up and you'll rise up again.
