I am not going to discuss the issue(s) that have been bothering me for the past month or so, in order to not be made fun of and/or berated. But I usually do not have depression. I have anxiety and self-esteem problems, but depression does not usually happen to me. However, I have sunk deep into probably the worst depressive state of my life, even worse than in 2016 when I got so depressed that I lost almost a third of my entire body weight.
I feel dejected to the point that I am having problems eating again. It does not help that I often have acid reflux and indigestion, but the depressive state also affects my appetite a lot. I lost interest in almost all of my hobbies. I can barely have a conversation nor concentrate on simple tasks because I feel hopeless. Not like it matters, since people say that I look so mean and unapproachable that many do not even want to talk to me. Instead, I feel tense and a very high heart rate, which is exacerbated by my chronic hypertension. The home blood pressure machine that I have is showing my pulse almost always over 100 at rest, plus blood pressure averaging around 155 systolic. Headaches and muscle stiffness almost all day. I cannot sleep well due to ruminations, tossing and turning and just intermittent sleep. Often I just feel like I am sick of life, despite having turned 30 a couple months ago. Are these things usually temporary? Each day is a hard. How does one usually get out of these depressive states? |

I'm sorry you're forced to go through that. Much of it sounds painfully familiar, especially with the daily dose of misery, losing interest in everything, and weight loss. It's been temporary for me, but hard to tell when it'll pass.
I wish I had some good answers, but I haven't really found any myself, except to let it run its course. There's the "standard" advice, like seeing a doctor (without putting it off), reaching out to friends, etc. I did all that (in uncharacteristic fashion, I might add, but the pain makes you do strange things). Unfortunately, I came across no silver bullets. |

Do you take acid reflux medicine? Have you seen a GI doc?

So, yes, your anxiety and depression could be temporary. Can you ask your doctor to test those to rule them out as a cause? |

I am so sorry, @LundiHvalursson! Sometimes things can get REALLY overwhelming. Take it one step at the time. Definitely contact your Doctors and your Therapist if you're seeing one. I can't make any promises, but things don't have to stay like this. In Life, we often go up and down. This is certainly one of your "down" moments, so please hang in there at least until you feel "up" again, ok? We'll be here for you along the way! THAT I can promise You! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @LundiHvalursson, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

Yes, I take omeprazole and famotidine. For motility I take amitriptylene. But that is not the main concern. I often just feel like giving up.
Like Einstein said, trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity. But what happens when one tries new things and still ends up with the same or even worse results? |
