Many times. And that is the truth. I have been genuinely there for many who have been in pain, to offer genuine support. Often to my own detriment.... and I am NOT saying that is a ''good'' thing to support others to MY detriment.... but it may show I am not a terrible person. I know my own heart. And I am not implying anyone thinks I am terrible.... it is MY internal snake who calls me out as ''terrible'' for breathing oxygen.
 You? ETA I request that replies are only about online friends or contacts...… since my ''family'' of origin were (and are) grossly unsupportive. hence talk of such is a trigger for me

How many times have I been genuinely extended support to online friends and contacts?
I don't know. I am an individual of diminishing energies, but it has been online, and particularly at PC, I have attempted to be supportive of others. How effective my attempts have been is another question.

I try to support others.
I have empathy and compassion for them but feel that I can only support rather than make a real difference.

I have over 7000 posts on here.
 . I am always genuine. I am trying to be here for myself and will try to support others along the way. Am I helpful? IDK. We don’t know how we touch others as we go through life. Maybe someone up there is keeping score? My intentions are good. I have seen you be supportive on here countless times, Fuzzy. Even if it only helps us when we try to help others, we’ll that still helps someone, right? My personal life is in tatters. I think I’m doing better anonymously on here, and I hardly even post here now. For me, this is a safe space, where people carry out altruistic acts in a remarkably unselfish way.
I get quite emotionally involved when a member has some issue. Am I a caring person because of harrowing experiences I've had in the past? Because of my subsequent low self-esteem? I've given up trying to work it out, really, but probably... But I've been able to ask for and receive support here on PC, which is pretty miraculous for someone like me! |
