We are all different. We will need to digest that the corona crisis is here in our own tempo. Not everyone will be able to shout out for joy: "Oh, this is a chance to grow". Still I think that when people are able to really understand what this virus is doing to us, our society and our world economy, we will find the strength to fight, one step at the time. We shall accept backsliding from time to time. We want to live!
It's a long time since I have had a really anxiety attac. I remember that it was very difficult to remember to use the tools I had learned and that I thought I was dying of a heart attack. Still I am writing this, because I believe that when people fall into deep despair (that does not fall into the category of emergency), they will be willing to try methods that they thought was too difficult to learn before. There are different relaxation techniques at Youtube. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) has been of good help to me. It takes about two months to learn to do them properly if we do them every day. The virus has given us that time! It is difficult, but since we have got this time, why not use it to something positive that will benefit us when the crisis is over? So, even if we backslide once or many times, we will still learn something ... I post the STOPP link once more in case everybody has not read it yet: STOPP skill I wish all of you a good fight against your depression and anxiety, one step at the time (even with backsliding)! PS. In case of fake news, it can be wise use WHO as a trustable source: Coronavirus disease 2019 Last edited by Anonymous49071; Mar 27, 2020 at 09:16 AM.. |
