Why do our snakes become programmed by our abuser's?

I don't seen to be able to re-programme mine either.
I try...
Sometimes it works for a bit...

Exactly.... our snakes have been programmed by our abusers. Further abuse or extremely sub optimal events make it even harder to re-program them ''successfully'' .. but it's worth trying to do so
