Yesterday was fantastic. i got a lot of work done. I made plans to get together with a friend. It was great. Then this thought came to my head...things are too good, surely this will end soon.
Sure enough today I'm full of anxiety about work stuff. I feel like my world is about to come tumbling down. I tell myself that this mood will not last just like the great mood didn't last. Has this happened to you? |

I don't really have any great moods, so I can't really have a frame of reference. There are times when I don't feel as bad as others, when things seem almost tolerable or manageable, and then these times can end suddenly and without provocation.

Oh yes. It is frustrating and seems inexplicable at times.

For me, a whole lot. That's what my life is all about. I feel happy; and then it's a safe bet that my good mood will tumble down. Unfortunately, I'm always right about that. For some strange reason, I feel like it's a sin to be happy.
Maybe it comes from my upbringing. My parents, especially my father, were depressive. I would feel happy about things and then they would bring my happiness down. |
