I'm looking for ideas on how to improve. And I thought we all could use a place to explore what changes may help us, and provide hope.

I want to start with making phone calls and saying I'm NOT a burden. The other person answered, therefore they can tell me to call later. I want to share some things I'm learning and get there experience to support my learning. And I want to ask for help, and not feel guilty for asking.

What about you?

Hi, puzzclar, I always want to improve myself. What you're thinking of doing seems like a brave thing to do. I generally avoid making phone calls. In fact, I avoid people as much as possible because I feel so uncomfortable, & actually nervous. I guess that's social anxiety. I may appear very calm, so people probably just think I'm reserved. But inside I'm planning my getaway. When I finally escape I feel so relieved & my positive mood is free to be. I have been learning how to socialize better by interacting with you guys here at PC.

Hi @puzzclar great idea for a thread. Thank you.
It's a big step to change our thinking patterns. Wish you all the best.
Like @Breaking Dawn and yourself I am also struggling more and more with phone calls.
The feeling of burdening the recipient is just... stressing me out so much. At times I am so stressed out that my brain feels foggy.
Procrastinating important phone calls until the bitter end became my new hobby -.-

Hope you'll find some nice folks in your area. As @raging vortex writes... we gonna keep reaching out. Although I have to admit... reaching out all the time saps my energy away so fast🙈

If it weren't for the pandemic, participate in more Meetup groups to help me foster new friendships with people who actually *want* to be friends with me.
