I've been struggling for awhile now. I have no idea what to do. It has been almost a year of anxiety, a low mood, restless sleep, vivid dreams, fatigue, stomach issues, flu like symptoms, and more. At times I feel like I'm improving and then symptoms come back. I've been to my doctor and my test results were normal. I went and had 3 different mental health assessments. They weren't sure and referred me back to my PCP or other mental health services. I've tried everything on my own such as reducing caffeine, exercise, socializing, trying to rest when I need it, etc.

Hi, Rider52, I think I understand what you're saying. I have had good therapy & can do very well. But there are times when everything I've learned goes right out the window, so to speak. Don't forget, humans are extremely complex. Well, actually so are a lot of other wonderful animals. Anyway, please hang in there & have confidence in your intuitive intelligence. Ok? And you are probably doing better than you think you are.

Hi, I still keep myself pretty busy and try so hard to feel better. I was struggling with feeling anxious for quite awhile. My anxiety was improving quite a bit and I was sleeping better. I thought I was actually starting to feel more like myself again. Then for some reason I woke up anxious and my sleep wasn't as good last night. The other symptom that bothers me is that I wake up sometimes feeling really down. My mood usually improves towards the end of the day though.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling. My advice is to just keep going. If one professional isn't helpful try another. Some medical issues can cause psychiatric symptoms and vice verse. Keep trying and I hope you can find something that is helpful soon.

Thanks. I've tried so many different things to try and feel better. I have times where I feel ok and then I don't feel myself again.

Have you seen a psychiatrist yet? Medicine can be very helpful. For me it's necessary, along with individual and now starting group therapy. I really can't recommend it highly enough.

It sounds like you're doing all the other right things. If you don't like chemicals, try to overcome your internal resistance. That's what I had to do - I hated the idea of using drugs. But they work once you find the right cocktail.

I hope this is helpful and you're able to find what works for you.

I haven't personally met with a psychiatrist. When I had a mental health assessment they made a call to their doctor to see what to do. They could've treated me there, but referred me to counseling. My PCP gave me medication for anxiety attacks as needed.

I would recommend something for the low mood too. If you're getting out of bed every day starting off low, it's just going to make everything harder.
