I used to be here a very long time ago. I remembered these forums now because again I find myself with absolutely no one to talk to. And its my fault.

Does it ever feel like you're facing the same old problems but somehow they're worse? Not in any real way though. Just your ability to deal with them has been depleted? Coping mechanisms I learned in therapy which helped me very much, just seem impossible now. I'm so far away from the state where writing about my feelings or meditating could help.

And it feels that my brain just accepts it, we're gonna stay this way I guess, nothing to do.

Well this was mostly just a rant but if anyone had a similar experience, let me know how you got over it?

Hi Nikki,

I'm sorry you're back in a bad place. I have a similar experience to yours in that I often find myself sick and tired of fighting the same battles in my head over and over again. Coping mechanisms will work for a while and then stop working just because I'm tired of doing them repeatedly without any persistent, meaningful change.

What I'm finding out about myself is how important social connection is to me. Having friends and, most importantly, face-to-face contact with them, is critical to maintaining a sense of internal balance and self-regard. Without it, I get stuck in downward spirals of self-hatred and

.

When you say you have no one to talk to and it's "your fault", what do you mean by that? Do you try to maintain social connection and are unable to?

I hope this forum will be able to help you as before. Maybe we'll even be able to come up with fresh new coping mechanisms that will provide you some relief. Welcome back and I look forward to hearing your story.

Yes, that's a familiar feeling. Age doesn't help, either... seems the last time for me was around 10 years ago.

I'd also be interested in any success stories of someone finally overcoming this. At least I hope there will be some good years left in the end for all of us.
