@Thirty shades, what you just posted describes EXACTLY what I have been experiencing when it comes to my older sister.

I try to remind myself how Bill Cosby had such a good reputation and was thought of as a good person, good father and good man UNTIL the truth about him came out and it was absolutely horrible and so many people were shocked. Nobody thought Scott Peterson was ever capable of murdering Lacy who was carrying his child.

When we discover a person has a very dark side to them it's extremely hard to come to terms with. We experience so many emotions and lose faith in ourselves that we had not somehow seen the reality until it was too late.

Great posts ... I have experienced EXCATLY that. I do not enjoy it when we find the hidden, dark side of a person. It is indeed BETRAYAL

What you posted puts words to exactly what I have been going through. It’s very much like mourning a death of someone you really thought it was safe to love and trust. It’s a very different kind of shock.

I cried and cried for the loss of someone that did not really exist. It really made me question myself in a way I never imagined.

That’s like Katie Couric who thought she knew and could trust Matt Lauer. She had no idea he had this awful side to him.

I really understand what you mean here.

We think we know a person. We really believe the best in them. If we are blinded to their dark side, we are setting ourselves up to be betrayed.

In someones beautiful rainbow colour's, we don't see any black... No nighttime rainbows...

You are right, we then have to grieve their loss.
