My blood sugars have been between 13mmo/L and 26mmol/L which is 234mg/dl and 456mg/dl,way too high for the higher number but good for me with the lower number.I need to figure out a way to keep it consistently low.I know which foods to cut out but how do I say no to them every time is the trick? And the difficulty!

I schedule a cheat day each month then I don't feel deprived or that I have to eat a sweet right at the moment.

if i buy it, i eat it,, some times i just get cravings, and i give in....
the daily dose is not so much a problem, unless it's regular... check your blood sugar AVERAGES in the lab every 3 months~ (and my doc didn't quiver when i told her i was adjusting my meds to match my diet each day).

I think I just gave up...just can't get myself to move today. Got a shower and went to my doctors appointment. I am just so worried about my family. I have a big family and lots going on without good resolutions. My husband is actually the least of my worries right now if you can believe that. Apparently I am only good at handling one big health thing at a time! One situation just made bad because there are little kids involved.

There is great joy in a big family but when the proverbial s*** hits the fan well it spurts a lot farther too. I also sometimes care too much for my own good which may be what's happening now.

Deejay you have to learn to put yourself first.I am the same tackling other people's problems before my own I love to help but when my own issues aren't being dealt with that is not on.

I am trying to exercise more,if it is a distance I can walk I will do it now the weather is better rather than get a taxi for the short trips. This weekend I am exercising by cutting the grass and doing some gardening.Exercise brings my blood sugar down.

I think most of the problem is I would like to help but I can't. Sometimes I know too much for my own good.

Gardening is good on two fronts Marilyn. Gets some movement happening and you end up with a sense of achievement after it. If I relied on constant checking of my bsls i think I would drive myself batty because what the manual tests at home are so different to what shows up with the proper quarterly check done in the lab.

Yep - if I buy it I eat it too Gus. There are times when I just cant trust myself to have certain things in the house because if they are there I will eat them. Chocolate is on special at the moment where I live.

Deejay maybe you could have a designated day off your family's stuff and make yourself unavailable? You are allowed to rest. The things that are happening with your hubby has to hve an emotional impact on you though you may not be aware of it. Possume declares a day of rest.

Possum my family hasn't taken up my time at all. I am just worried. My normally quiet big family is going through major stuff. Like 3 big things. And yes despite having a large family, very little **** has,hit the fan. But the last two weeks have been a soap opera. Like I said something's I know too much about from previous experiences. Doing pretty well about the spouse stuff because we won't know anything til about a week after the surgery and that hasn't been scheduled yet. Hoping to get a date for preoperative stuff and a surgery date before we leave the surgeon's office, so I can't do anything about that. Just trying to keep him calm and even til Tuesday. He said he is very anxious for Tuesday....me too.. but I can't make Tuesday come any faster by worrying. Come to think of it all my worrying won't help the others either so maybe I should apply that logic to everything right now. Thank you for posting Possum. You have helped settle my mind.

Back on schedule with exercise today! Can't say my body feels good now that I am done but I feel mentally better for getting it done.
Big day for us tomorrow. Surgeon at 7:45 am. I am not a very early riser. Usually don't wake til 7am and then I snuggle with my old kitty til 8:30. But tomorrow I will get up at any time husband needs me to. He gets up on work days at 4am.

Gus and Possum,
Not good news spouse has cancer. Surgery in two weeks and then we will find out if it has spread.
