Thank you Deejay. Today it is raining and Saturday. Housework seems like the order of the day.

i get soooo annoyed at not being able to 'predict' my blood sugar swings~!
some of it is due to home made food not have a good calorie label... O.O ,,, but i try to make the best guess possible~! still, my BSL's never make sense to me. for example: this afternoon, 3 hrs after a light brunch of 2 small baked pork ribs and a slice of deli bread (est. 300 calories) and 1000 mg Metformin + 5 mg Glypizide (half the recommended dose), my BSL was 172~! after a 3 hr nap it was 71~! what in the world is going on??? this happens often (that i get a completely unexpected reading).

there is an interesting (to me) way of personalizing your diet plan. it's called the "Blood Type Diet", and was developed to address the different ways that people, by blood type, manage different nutritional needs and sensitivities. for some, the differences may be small and subtle, but for others, it is a clear guide for improving digestion and health, and reducing 'food reactions'.

developed by a Dr. D'Adamo, foods are recommended for each of the four blood types, A, B, AB ,and O. no reference is given for positive + or negative - blood types. here is a link to the official web site:

https://www.dadamo.com/

let me know what you think ~!

How is everyone doing? It's a pretty good day for me. Started Jardiance a week ago, up and down feelings about that right now. Anyone else ever taken that?

no, Candy, but i am VERY interested, because my Metformin/Glypizide mix is not doing the job any more, and excessive use can damage the liver...
i don't know if my Medi/Medi insurance will cover it, but i'm going to do some research. THANKS for mentioning it~!

I had the book on the right diet for your blood type Gus. Seems to be the type of a fadish diet but i suppose anything that that gets us to focus less on sugar and carbs is a good thing.

Not doing so good with my bsl. I haven't checked it myself for ages. The govt withdrew the subsidy for the testing strips so they are really expensive to buy now. I do have a couple of strips left. It went in to double digits last night though I guess I know why and deserved it. Tired today but I suppose it's from lots of things that I that are happening. hmmmm.

Thanks for the picture and support Gus. Today I used another strip and it had gone down to 6.8. Must practice self care today. Not always easy when I would rather go back to bed. Too cold.

I am back exercising! It's been almost two weeks. Incredibly hot and humid of late but the air is great today and it's only 80! A cold streak for us!0

well, the last month or so i've been over-indulging on carbs and sugars... donut holes, wheat puffs, potato chips... just can't seem to get enough... gained almost 5 lbs, really hate that~! i know my mood has had a lot to do with it,,, i've been feeling sad, and you all prolly know the 'comfort food' syndrome.

my sleep has been all off too... some of that is the hot weather, but not all (i have a sleep disorder, too). and i'm lonely. i rarely get lonely but for some reason, stressors most likely, i just wish i had someone to talk to. i'm very isolated, and my online friends haven't been around much....

well, that's my story~ and i'm stickin' to it!

this too shall pass
