indulged in a sack of oranges and chinese lunch today
i try to reward myself for going to the doc,,, so i won't 'get sick' the day before~

I fell today at a department store with my walker. Luckily was with my sister, but it wasn't pretty. Tomorrow morning could be interesting!!!

I exercised today for the first time in a while, since i hurt my knee 3 months ago. Felt good to work up a sweat again. I "just" have to make this a daily habit.

Yes, it was my rolling walker that I take shopping with me. The floor had just been waxed and I drag my toes sometimes with the CP. I have fallen twice with it. Very sore today in my neck back and torso.

at one time my back was so bad that i couldn't walk 100 ft without sitting down, so i bought this 'wheeled chair', that has a basket under it for 'things', and big wheels and brakes on the handles. it's for people who have to go over rough terrain, or who 'drag their feet',, because it can't fall over~!

they come in several price ranges, weight gauges and some are height adjustable.. hope you can try one, hope it's better for you ~

Thanks for the link, Gus. Ive been in bed so much with the heat and my dumb knee, i was starting to look at those.

My gp ordered metformin 500 for me, today, finally. A little too late, last months januvia put me next to the donut hole. I called him back and he cancelled my januvia, so that will save me a fortune for the rest of the year at least.

So i read up this morning on metformin - i took it maybe 20 years ago? But i didnt know WHAT i was doing. Now its like i know exactly how many grams of fat, carbs, and protein every meal is. Also he wants me testing every day. I will be glad to have metformins help to lose weight.

My biggest meal is usually around 4 pm (im always the factory worker's daughter, this is dinnertime!). So i wonder if i should take the metformin after dinner (which is really my 2nd meal of the day, cuz i usually get up pretty late). I was exercising from around 1 to 2, and i was getting kinda woozy - i dont know if that was low BP or low bsl, so i was thinking maybe morning would NOT be a good time to take the metformin.

I am probably not going to pick it up until next week, so i have time to think about it. I always wake up with highish numbers, and i read the half life is 4 to 8 hours, so that was another reason i wanted to take it later in the day into night, i think my liver releases a lot of glucose at night.

My dr always says, "i know you are going to surprise me one of these times with a great weight loss" - hopefully oct 29 will be that time.

life is hard when you can't walk, and can fall, DJ~! i'm really surprised that you could tip one of those walker chairs over~! {{{{ Hugs }}}

unaluna, i take a Metformin 500 mg after every meal, so 3x a day... i don't actually like it, would rather be on all Glypizide, as per the feedback from my metabolism...
the liver has this little job of shooting us full of sugars at wake-up. it's not releasing them all night, only with a shot of adrenaline when our body sends out the 'Wake UP' call~ i figure, after careful charting for a Looooong time, that i get about 30 points on the sugar chart when i wake up.

the Metformin, on the other hand, is good for eating up about 100 calories per dose... not enough for me to have a high caloried diet... this is not true of everyone. some people get more mileage out of Metformin, and some have real liver issues with it... it's always something,, but at least it is relatively cheap~!

may we all have good health care, and the sources of good health care~!

Gus I didn't tip it over. I dragged my foot and it rolled forward as I stayed in place. I can hardly move today. My whole torso and back is in such pain. Showering was h***

The and possum we just got home from my husband's first visit with the oncologist. All the news was good. No high risk factors for needing chemo at stage 2. Just bloodwork every 3 months, yearly colonoscopy and yearly CT scan I think we can both live with that and I know I'll sleep better.

since it's been so hot in the day-time, i do my cooking at night. last night i made one of my favorite soups, but i had already had my allotted calories for the day, so i'm going to have it for breakfast ~! (maybe)

it's called Abondigas sopa, which is spanish for Meatball Soup~!
what i love best about it is that it is mostly low-cal vegetables and some seasoned hamburger. i use large chunks of taters, celery, onion, carrots, bell pepper, and whatever else i happen to have... this one got some zucchini and some mushrooms. the most important part to making it taste like Abondigas, is the Bell Pepper and a spice called Cumin. i like to put a in a little garlic powder and cayenne pepper, too...

it's a good, hearty, low cal meal that's easy to make...
hope soup is to your liking~
