I got up at 5:30 am. Haven't done that in three years and that was a one time deal. In bed snuggling with cat hoping my body and my head will recover.

eye doc says (in so many words) that first eye doc was a dud...
he will see me in October, and make the proper referrals to the Othomologist, 60 miles away... likely glaucoma won't strike me blind before then... O.O ~! __________________ AWAKEN~! |

The that's awful! Eyes should not be messed with. One wants a long time for anything here, even a primary care appointment. I think it's just the state of medicine in the US. My husband's hospitalization in June was quite the experience. I wish it was the exception to the rule, but apparently not.

with 'Medical Malfeasance (wrongdoing)' the 3rd leading cause of death in the USA, i would like my doctors to stop telling me they don't do what their patients tell them to~! all i am doing is trying to stay on top of what they are doing, so i don't become a 'victim'. it must be horrible to be a doctor, so many of them are mean and /or incompetent (in my experience).
this eye doc actually criticized ME for the misdeeds of the other doc~ grrrrrrrr and there are only the 2 of them in town. at least he had the decency to not charge me for doing nothing. __________________ AWAKEN~! |

I've forgotten to check my sugar two days in a row now. I really need to check it later.

Gus, these days the patient has to be the advocate for the patient. It's sad!
On the positive side I got all my exercises in. I usually take the weekend off but with working now I have to find a new schedule that works.Working early morning tomorrow so after work I should be able to exercise. We shall see....haven't gone to work for 6 am since I was a teenager! Fatigue may win the battle tomorrow. __________________ True happiness comes not when we get rid of all our problems, but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of awakening, opportunities to practice patience and learn.~Richard Carlson |

Despite lots of meds last night I barely slept. Got to work at 6:30 am and worked til 10:30. I am not a morning person but going in at 6:30 has its benefits. I was so productive. Came home and got some housework done but had to stop because of pain and fatigue. DID ALL EXERCISES and have supper already with the pits and pans washed and dried. I am SO ready for bed and it's not even 4 pm here.
It seems it's going to take more time to get into a new schedule. Whoever thought a 12 hour job could be so disruptive? __________________ True happiness comes not when we get rid of all our problems, but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of awakening, opportunities to practice patience and learn.~Richard Carlson |

Thank God for the cleaning woman who comes twice a month. She is here today so nothing to do but supper which will be easy. Got a good night's sleep, but still fatigued from yesterday. I did just do all my exercises so maybe I need more recovery time. I'm not 25 anymore! I actually read today. Haven't been able to find time for that since I started work. The book is due at the library by the 26th. Can I read 225 pages in that time?? I used to be able to do that in a couple of days. A VERY part time job is making it a challenge.

I do sit for a bit but I can't nap during the day. I don't sleep great at night either. My sister is starting chemo treatment on Thursday. It's all very real to me now. We are a close family but she is not forthcoming with info. Little info on anything makes me even more anxious than I am at baseline. My heart breaks for her because even if all goes, well the next 7 months are going to be difficult for her. I would do this for her if I could. Guess not a great time. Cancer twice in my family in a couple months time.

Ugh, i think i finally found a way to deal with my metformin constipation! Really the bad thing about it was that it made me so SLUGGISH - really not the best activity level for dealing with diabetes. I tried metamucil wafer cookies, didnt quite do the trick. So i got some Quest protein bars - here's johnny!!! This is in addition to my regular diet of veg, fruit, whole grain, no eggs or cheese or anything else i find binding!, lots of water, coffee every morning, and taking dulcolax stool softener. I'm sorry, but sometimes i think i dont deserve this. Then i think, but im really pretty healthy and blessed, comparatively speaking - dont poke the bear!
