Default So low energy

I don't think most doctors really understand. I have absolutely zero hours with normal energy. I wake up drained. I force myself through the day. Sometimes I give up and I just sit on my couch. All day.

My second lab results will come in in about two weeks. If they can't do more, I don't want to be here anymore.

I'm even too tired to appreciate the small things in life, something I have been good at. Nothing is worth doing anymore.

So many dabblers have tried to cure me. Just take this, just eat that. NOTHING HELPED.

I feel if they want people like me to stay alive they should at least give some comfort. Pain relief. Help with chores. But they just DEMAND I stay happy and alive.

For them. Always for them. Or I am selfish. And THEY are not selfish???

Hi,

Not sure what to say... it could be so many things. I hope the lab work will reveal what needs doing.

Have they tested your Thyroid? If not make sure you bring this up with your doctor.

I'll be thinking of you and checking in to see what happens.

If you ever need to talk fill free to contact me.

I am sorry you are feeling horrid. Have you ever done a sleep test? There are so many things that can drain us when we are sleeping. If you stop breathing on and off. If we are too hot our bodies get dehydrated.

Are you low in iron? I found that an iron infusion helped me.

Don't give up. There will be an answer.

I am on max allowed dosage (for my labs) on Synthroid. I get iron IV.

Sleep lab would be interesting but no access. According to my friend whom I share a room with at times, I do not stop breathing, but I do snore some. She on the other hand does have apneas, but they said they are too few to treat. And she snores like an elephant! LOL.

I'm just sad and confused what crushed my life spirit. I haven't been "here" before.

I sort of got instant punishment for complaining, not long after that I got a herniated disc in my back.

One thing irks me though, it was that my friend went through the exactly same mental stuff, the "not really depression" tiredness and lack of a spark, he came out to have cancer and died just 3 months after finding out.

It's nothing I'm fearful of but I do wonder if with some illness, our minds will mirror it, before docs get to us.

Pain alone can sap our strength and drain emotions.
A relative of mine has snored for many years. Recently she had a sleep test done and they found out she stopped breathing 40 times per night. She didnt think she had a problem. I would urge you if at all possible to some how get this done. A machine is more reliable than a person no matter how much they care.

You are allowed to complain. You are allowed to be tired. You are allowed take pain medication to ease the pain. You are allowed to rest and breathe.

My friend has been oddly understanding about the pain thing. I guess cuz she knows how it feels. Being down or tired, nope no understanding, it more annoys her. She is getting more tired herself and she still can't believe it, she's like "I slept 12 hours, I can't be tired", while I've told her for this tiredness you can sleep forever and you're still tired. I try more and more not feeling guilty for not being well. Before, everyone was just guilt tripping me like it was a choice and I chose not to have fun with them.

Too bad friend has to learn the hard way.

About pain meds, we're a Tylenol country. Everything can be fixed by it..... (not!)

Maybe you did this already, but have you had physical therapy? Just to help you gain strength and stamina?
I agree the new tylenol fixes everything policy is silly and hurtful.
Is your albumin level normal? This can really effect healing and strength.
Do you feel depressed? Do you have adequate outlets for your emotional pain?
What you feel is real, and you have every right to complain!

Albumin is probably normal since they haven't mentioned it. I do a short physio session every day or I would not be able to function.

Doctors usually follow the path of least resistance...and when it comes to thyroid treatment this is doubly true. You said you are being treated with Synthroid...which I'm supposing is for Hypothyroidism?

Hypothyroidism is in most instances a by-product of underlying Auto Immune disease ...Hashimoto's being the most prevalent. Inflammation from Hashimoto's disease, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, often leads to an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). Hashimoto's disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the United States.

Please speak with you prescribing doctor, and try to get them invested in getting a full panel done, including your hormone levels, antibodies etc... Synthroid will maybe level out your TSH readings, but you may have a conversion problem.....Meaning that the T4 you are taking is not being converted at a cellular level to the T3 that your body needs. Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's are a balancing act ...Optimal treatment being the ultimate goal.
