I just really get annoyed when someone refers to us as a system as, "you"
like if emily's fronting and people say, " you", refering to just her, wel we exist too.. I don't know how everyone else here likes to be called or chooses to handle that, but christ it annoys us- even if the people don't know about the D.I.D, we come away thinking.. well how very selfish and un professional. but maybe that's just us. we're just so used to being refered to as, " us, or " atlantis", or something of that nature |

I don't gt annoyed, because 1 - 'you' is also a plural and 2 - most people don't know, so its not their fault. The current 2 people in my life who know refer to us in the plural, or at least acknowledge others inside might feel or believe differently about a given thing. For everyone else they don't know, so it aint their fault.

no I never got annoyed my whole system was built on keeping the secrets no matter what right down to having alters that would enact self injury actions as punishment for telling and being noticed. if someone said anything other than you, that pointed to them knowing there was others and that they may know the secrets, traumas and all that was being protected and hidden. sometimes when a treatment provider said you all or they someone inside would take over and ask something like is this like "we dont do that as in you are talking about yourself but trying to include me here" the treatment provider would laugh and smile then reword their statement or question using the word you. even now sometimes I will slip into the "we" word meaning I and have to rephrase it because I instantly have a self injury thought or someone else notices I slipped into the we phrasing. even here in my posts most times when I write the word we rather than thinking oh gosh this person had a past diagnosis of DID they may mean their insiders, others on here start thinking Im talking about others besides me. so even in this reference I am trying to not use plurals like we, they, them, and trying to stick with the point of view of singulars not plurals.
back on track no being called you doestn bother me and never did. a safety protection mode of mine to protect the secrets. |

Oh boy. *Covers face with hands*
Actually getting called by our body's name has a similar effect on us. Though, we do get a bit upset for that said reason but as Luce stated, people on the outside don't really know what goes on in this body of ours so they're not really ones to blame. Though, we can't say that what your system has posted isn't relatable. If folks on this outside could say, "Hey how are you guys doing?" then that would be an actual miracle wouldn't it? c: |

To me the word "you" when it's said to me about something that I need to do or address, makes me feel like I'm in trouble. It feels like a "calling out" and I better make it right. ?

I agree, I think that would be wonderful but I also fear we're talking in the real distant future. mental health stigma still has a long way to go |
