If this isn't the right place for this, please tell me.
I seem to be questioning what's real today. It's getting scary. One minute something is undeniably real, then the proof of reality is gone. I'm not sure if this is dissociation or what it is. I'm unsure what more to say, but I'm afraid. __________________ Once you are real, you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always.... |

I experience this a lot as part of my dissociative disorder too. Sometimes a lot more than others.
It's awful to be in a position where your mind is questioning the reality of everything all the time. |

There must be a lot of stress around right now for you to need the protection of such intense derealization.
Are there any good grounding techniques that can help you feel a bit more concrete and present in the moment? Maybe physical ones would be most helpful right now... feeling your feet connected to the earth, stretching or yoga, rubbing something soft and soothing against your skin etc?? |

I can be sitting on my bed, in my room, with my stuff- and then it’s like I might as well be on the moon because everything feels foreign with no connection to being mine.
My hand arms go numb and I feel detached to this body (which is a 100% time thing itself) but more-so when dp/dr strikes. Anxiety is often times the culprit to its trigger, but they do happen unannounced. Busy busy supermarkets are one of the worse....big store, bright lights, noise, people, colors in symmetry, rows and rows of items stacked.... I ground myself out of this DR daze by reading labels and with calm breathing to a point of tolerability. |

I experience derealization a lot when I am at work, especially when stressed. like now. It's hard to care about not being able to perform my duties because I can't connect to the realness or importance of it. It is all so far away and meaningless. It just doesn't matter.
