Eventhough I was dx'd years ago and I sometimes feel remnants of "others", I doubt my dx. Either it was an incorrect dx or the ECT I've been having has done something to make it different. I feel like such a fraud. I truly believed the dx and it made perfect sense at the time. It doesn't now. I don't know what to believe any more.

I wouldnt jump to any conclusions. I had ECT in 1995 and was in the hospital a whole month and only remember three things that happened there. So it could be the ECT.

I'm so sorry, Calla lily12 What makes you believe your diagnosis may have been incorrect? Please don't be so hard on yourself. You're NOT a fraud. You're just a person who's struggling right now. I'd suggest to talk to your Pdoc about this and see how it goes from there. Hopefully he/she will be able to help you. If you do feel better, then good for you! Be proud of yourself for that. If not, that's ok. You're working to get better and that's what's important. I'm so sorry, please don't give up. Be kind to yourself. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

Maybe can you have won past it? That doesn’t mean it was ever not real.

Did you intentionally on purpose purport this condition for deception purposes (porpoise (just had too))? Only a fraud would...and your sincerity and concern voices otherwise.

Thank you for expressing your feelings and concern...but you are not faking....I have felt the same too at times because from what I remember...it wasn’t all that bad of a childhood...and I can’t remember much, but a few good times and never the bad.
Besides, DID only happens to other people worst off then me...at least in my head it sounds good.

Maybe it’s time to reaccess your current mental state? Or do nothing and see where it goes?

I’m hoping that it gets easier and clearer for you. It’s really good hearing from you again.

Say probably ECT but after all these years still the idea of faking it or wrong dx pops up. Have recently had an auto accident suffering a concussion. Doc put me on Ritalin. It quieted down significantly inside. So we tried to convince ourselves that the real dx should have been Ritalin insufficiency. Why didn't the docs think of that!!? Even with a concussion, know that's ridiculous. Wishful thinking? Denial? Don't know.
