Default Why

Why does someone keep talking about mommy? I mean I know it has nothing to do with my mom because she isnt all that helpful. Someone keeps saying I want my mommy I love my mommy.

Im sorry but no one can answer why someone keeps talking about a mommy to you. only you and your treatment providers can say that.

what I can say is that I never had any alters talking and wanting a mommy. my alters were dissociative/ trigger related. by that I mean I would encounter a trigger then have my dissociation symptoms then the alter who's sense of agency it was to handle that trigger would be in control to take care of what ever was triggering me into having my dissociation symptoms.

suggestion maybe you and your treatment provider can find out what your dissociation symptoms are before you hear that someone talking about mommy and wanting their mommy. this will tell you how and why they are doing that.

again only you and your own treatment providers can say why this is happening to you.

another suggestion if this continues to bother you contact your treatment providers.

is this person a little?

could he/ she be asking for a mommy inside that she can love and look up to?

I know one of ours is like that. she wants a mommy she can look up to, though she wants someone on the outside

or do you think it could be someone who doesn't know the story about your mom and why you can't talk to her

we have alisha in our system who is 9, who doesn't understand why we can't talk to our mom

I can talk to my mom. My mom is just very negative and hurtful sometimes. I dont know who it is.

We have one particular little one whose role I suppose is to contain the feelings of wanting a mommy. None of the rest of us have any desire for a mother figure at all. But for L who is three, that is her main role.
She has wanted a mommy figure since forever. Our mother wasn't the kind of mother any child would want. So L spent all her time searching and yearning for someone else to be her mother. To find out what this part of you who wants mommy needs you can work at finding ways to communicate with her. Maybe talk to your T about it.
