I get that with DID you are split at a certain age. A host is whoever fronts most etc. What about your orginal self and I am not referring to DID because I know you are fragmented and there is no orginal self. What about with OSDD? I only remember me. I remember going to school as me. Going home and being emotionally and mentally abused as me all after 8. I dont remember if I was happy, sad or whatever before 8. I dont have enough collective memories to come to any conclusion and my parents are of no help. Anyway so I dont remember any parts of me (alters)(anyone who felt drastically different than me until my 20s) and I am always conscious of her. So do people with OSDD still have an orginal self? Can you be BPD and still feel you have a separate self? One that feels different than you emtionally?

since you have recently been having a problem with the information that you get on forums conflicting with what your own treatment providers are trying to tell you and get you to do my suggestion is contacting your own treatment providers. they are the ones that are saying you have OSDD category of disorders, which means they are the ones that you need to take your questions about your OSDD disorder problems too.

what i can tell you is ...........in general / not related to you....

is that yes everyone has an original self regardless of what mental disorder they have including Dissociative disorders.

my suggestion is contact your treatment providers. they will explain to you how your mind works and what is your original self versus when you are feeling dissociated. only they can answer your questions as they relate to you.

I found my original self a few weeks ago. It's a personality like my others but I can have alot more control over the others. With my core personality, I can be co-conscious with my other alters. My original self went dormant for years as my protector alter took control for years. But with my original self I can hear the thoughts and feelings of my other alters. I can talk to and negotiate with them, have small conversations and form agreements. It has honestly changed my life , finding my core again.
