I worry too. I am just quite dysfunctional in certain ways, so my life keeps falling apart all the time. Come to think of it, maybe because I worry too little, or unsystematically. In any case, the worrier, maybe a bit like the body checker, or the backup backup planner, they really strike a chord in me, they touch my heart. Like the worrying squirrel in Felix Salten's Bambi. Or like squirrels in general with these stories of how they worry in the summer and hide nuts everywhere, then forget their caches in the winter, and trees grow. Obsessive. But they need to be. Or rather, it is their nature, and it makes them useful and loveable.

Good discussion here. I recently had a suicide attempt which cause several of our key alters that we're experiencing gaps to open up in this way. It was relieving to know, but sorry that it was due to an attempt at ending life.

Sorry indeed. Good that it was only an attempt. So some alters were content, and one was suicidal?

First, thank you so much for making this thread. It's so reassuring to me to see I'm not the only one.
I remember being about 4. I woke up one day, it should have been Tuesday, but it was Wednesday. I'd watched Dumbo the night before, and the Pink elephants had frightened me, and somehow I thought it was the pink elephants fault. I still can't watch Dumbo!
It happened a few times after that, but as I got older it stopped being so severe.
