Do you ever refer to yourself by your name but it seems like it's coming from someone else? Like you might say " your name" that's not a good idea etc. That normal self talk. I have you ever had it seem like it was coming from someone else though. Example I was thinking about a metal versus plastic dish drainer for sanitary reasons at my dads. I had left that train of thought but then a thought popped in my head that was rude sounding that said how do you know D.....(my name). Anyone ever experienced something like this?

Definitely. My name almost always sounds like it's someone else talking to me...I mean, different someone elses, not just one "other." The experience used to be very frightening and upsetting to me. Not as much now, because I'm in treatment with people I trust.

I don't know, either. That type of event is something I'm working on in therapy. I've had some decent success with talking to that voice(s), definitely. Talking to it and listening. But I'm a long way from controlling it or accepting it or whatever I should do about it.
